Drew McIntyre On Kicking Out Of End Of Days: That’s When We Had The Fans, And That’s What It’s All About

Drew McIntyre‘s match against Happy Corbin at WrestleMania 38 will always be remembered for the first time that Corbin’s End of Days finisher was kicked out of.

WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre recently sat down with Rick Ucchino of The Bleav in Pro Wrestling Podcast to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about kicking out of Happy Corbin’s End of Days finisher at WrestleMania 38, McIntyre said it was done to catch the crowd in the moment to make them believe he could actually lose the match.

“I could feel it when I was lying there. I could see when I was watching it back and I could see the reaction of the internet,” Drew McIntyre said. “People went, ‘Oh God, Corbin’s won it.’ And that was the point of the match where we had them. And that’s what it’s all about. No matter what you think you know, it’s catching the crowd. Losing them in the match. And that was the moment where everybody got lost 100% and his reaction to it was great,” McIntyre said. “The Stunner has been kicked out. Claymore’s been kicked out. As long as it’s done in the right occasion, done the right way and enhances what’s going on in the ring, you know, there’s nothing wrong with it. So it’s cool to say I’m the first one that did it.”

It will be interesting to see going forward how protected Happy Corbin’s End of Days finisher will be going forward. We’ll find out soon enough.
