World Series Wrestling To Crown New Women’s Champion At First Event Since 2019

World Series Wrestling returns to Australia next month with a high stakes triple threat matchup.

Returning for the first time since June of 2019, World Series Wrestling recently announced a triple threat matchup for their Phoenix Rising tour. Set for July 8th, AAA Reina De Reinas Champion Taya Valkyrie will take on fellow IMPACT Wrestling stars Tenille Dashwood and Chelsea Green for the vacant WSW Women’s Championship. The championship matchup will take place at the Adelaide Oval in North Adelaide, Australia. There, a new champion will be crowned.

The WSW Women’s Championship was previously held by Indi Hartwell. Hartwell defeated Jordynne Grace in June 2019 for the title before signing with WWE later that year. As a result, Hartwell forcibly vacated the championship since moving to NXT. With the additional impact of the pandemic, WSW halted all operations until now.

WSW released the following statement on their Phoenix Rising tour,

World Series Wrestling returns to Australia in July 2022 with its PHOENIX RISING live extravaganza! We invade Adelaide Friday 8th of July, Melbourne Saturday 9th of July and Sunday 10th of July and Sydney Monday 11th of July. Get Ready for the Ride of your Life!

Other talent slated for WSW’s Phoenix Rising tour include John Morrison, Buddy Matthews, Shazza McKenzie, Matt Cardona, Alex Zayne and more.
