AEW Dynamite Blood & Guts Results (6/29/22): Jericho Appreciation Society vs. Blackpool Combat Club

For the second time ever, All Elite Wrestling delivered “Blood & Guts” on the June 29 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Eddie Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz teamed up with the Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, and Claudio Castagnoli) to face the Jericho Appreciation Society (Chris Jericho, Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, and Jake Hager.)

Plus, Jade Cargill defended the TBS Championship against Leila Grey, and Orange Cassidy took on Ethan Page.

The results are as follows:

Ethan Page (with Dan Lambert) vs. Orange Cassidy (with Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta)

Before the match, Lambert says that unlike elections, there are rules here. He demands the referee to send Taylor and Beretta to the back, and they go. Once the bell rings, Page briefly gains the upper hand, but Cassidy fires up and dropkicks him. “Freshly Squeezed” flexes and sends Page to the outside with a hip toss. He dives onto Page outside the ring and hits a crossbody. “All Ego” uses his strength advantage to gain the upper hand. He sends Cassidy to the outside, and Lambert mockingly pours some orange juice on Cassidy. Page continues to control the match and ground Cassidy. Page blasts him with a kick and gets a two count with a brainbuster.

Cassidy uses the power of his pockets to escape the Razor’s Edge and counters a second attempt into a hurricanrana. Lambert distracts Cassidy, and Page capitalizes by slamming him for a two count. Cassidy perseveres and hits the Stun-dog Millionaire. He drops Page with a spinning DDT. “Freshly Squeezed” confronts Lambert when he gets involved again and sips the orange juice. He blasts Page with the Orange Punch, spits the juice in Lambert’s face and slams Page for the win.

Winner: Orange Cassidy

The Best Friends come back to the ring and celebrate with Cassidy. They give the people what they want by hugging him.

Christian Cage comes to the ramp because he has something to say. The veteran says upper management asked him to come out and apologize for the insensitive remarks he made about Jungle Boy’s family last week. He says he has never apologized for anything in his career before, but he’s sorry Jungle Boy’s whole family isn’t dead because they had to see him destroy Jungle Boy last week. Well, everyone except his mom. He then mouths, “Call me”. Cage says he requested a match, but he never said it was for him. With newly heel music, Luchasaurus, dressed in black gear, comes out and gets some advice from Cage.

Luchasaurus vs. Serpentico

Luchasaurus dominates Serpentico and makes him tap out to the Snare Trap.

Winner: Luchasaurus

Instructed by Cage, Luchasaurus attacks Serpentico and chokeslams him on the floor.

Wardlow and TNT Champion Scorpio Sky are backstage. Sky says he’s not a security guard, he’s a champion. He reminds Wardlow that he beat him last time. “Mr. Mayhem” says he’s done talking; he’ll treat every member of American Top Team like a security guard, and when he’s done with them, he’s coming for the title. Sky says he’ll face Wardlow in a Street Fight for the title next week.

Max Caster and Gunn Club (Austin and Colten Gunn) vs. Danhausen and TBA

Max Caster says Danhausen does white-face and threatens to make him drink all the water in Flint if he embarrasses the Gunn Club again. Anthony Bowens asks “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn to scissor him. Danhausen says he found some partners who are good at wrestling, and FTR comes out.

Cash Wheeler and Austin Gunn start the match and feel each other out. Dax Harwood tags in and grounds Austin. FTR double-teams Austin, and Danhausen gets in on the action. The Gunns gang up on Danhausen. Caster tags in and maintains the advantage. Austin and Colten work together to isolate the “Very Nice, Very Evil” one. Dax Harwood makes the hot tag and clears house. FTR dishes out stereo German suplexes to the Gunn Club. Austin hits a hip toss on Harwood, and both men are down. Danhausen tags in and kicks Austin. He makes the “GTS” sign and goes for the Go To Sleep, but Bowens gets out of his wheelchair and moves to hit Danhausen with the crutch. He ducks, so Bowens accidentally hits Austin, and Danhausen pins him.

Winners: Danhausen and FTR

After the match, The Acclaimed try to explain themselves to the Gunns. Austin and Colten are upset, but “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn shoved Austin  to the ground and sided with The Acclaimed.

In a taped promo, Jay Lethal, alongside Sonjay Dutt, challenges ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe to a title match at ROH Death Before Dishonor.

TBS Champion: Jade Cargill (c) (with Stokely Hathaway and Kiera Hogan) vs. Leila Grey

Cargill overpowers Grey early on and hits her with a fallaway slam. She continues to dominate, but Grey sneaks up on her and gets a two count with a roll up. The challenger hits Cargill with a series of strikes. Cargill counters a bulldog and blasts Grey with a big boot. Cargill pins Grey with Jaded to win the match.

Winner and still TBS Champion: Jade Cargill

After the match, Cargill tells Hathaway to find her some real competition next time. Hathaway says someone who doesn’t even work here seized the moment. He calls Kris Statlander and Athena lazy, and they charge the ring. The duo double-teams Cargill, but Leila Gray shoves Athena off the top rope. She helps Cargill and Kiera Hogan beat them up. Grey moves to shake hands with Hathaway, but the champion pushes her and walks away.
