Tony Khan Announces Big Change To Women’s AEW Blood And Guts Match

Tony Khan announces another big change to next week’s Women’s Blood and Guts match on AEW Dynamite.

There have been a lot of injuries in the AEW Women’s Division over the last several months, and it doesn’t appear to be getting any better heading into tonight’s episode of Dynamite.

All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan took to social media this evening before tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite to announce a change to tonight’s card that will also impact next week’s Women’s Blood and Guts match. Due to an injury to Queen Aminata, Mina Shirakawa will be replacing her in tonight’s match against Megan Bayne as well as next week’s Blood and Guts matchup.

“In the women’s Blood and Guts match, we’ve announced great participants,” Tony Khan began. “I had already said that, unfortunately, due to some injuries, we’ve had to make some changes in the field. Unfortunately, I’m going to have to make another change, and it affects tonight’s show as well.

“After last week’s match, the Sisters of Sin versus Jamie Hayter and Queen Aminata in the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Tournament, we saw Queen Aminata, she was, frankly, not 100% at the end of the match. And Queen Aminata had said she was going to be good to compete. She wants to fight. She wants to compete. But today, here at the arena, in the pre-match examinations, the doctors have ruled out Queen Aminata.

“They do not want her to participate in the advantage battle. And with injuries, the doctors are skeptical and worried about putting Queen Aminata in the Blood and Guts match. She is a competitor. She wants to fight, she wants to go. But after her injuries, I think the right thing to do is for Queen Aminata to be medically taken out of this match to be removed, and I’m sorry to do it. I know that Queen Aminata really wants to fight. She really wants to take on the opponents in this match.

“She’s had a long-standing issue with Megan Bayne, her opponent tonight, and in particular, the Triangle of Madness, opponents in this Blood and Guts match. I am going to have Queen Aminata step aside, and we are going to have Mina Shirakawa step into this match. Mina also has a lot to fight for. She was very upset to have her undefeated run on Collision ended last week when she was defeated with help from the Triangle of Madness, the Sisters of Sin, by Thekla.

“And with Mina Shirakawa’s closest friend and tag team partner, Timeless Toni Storm, now announcing her participation in the match. Mina Shirakawa has said she wants to step up. Mina will fight Megan Bayne tonight, on Wednesday night Dynamite, it’ll be Megan Bain versus Mina Shirakawa as part of the advantage battle, and of course, the huge matches to determine who gets the advantage in the Blood and Guts.”

WrestleZone will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite later this evening.
