A potential budding rivalry spilled outside of the ring over the weekend.
On July 9, AEW star Darby Allin participated at an autograph signing at the Southcenter Mall in Chicago. But before it could officially begin, Brody King arrived and attacked the former TNT Champion. He then powerbombed him through a merchandise table to punctuate his brutal message to the fan-favorite star. Allin went on to complete the signing as planned.

The seeds for a rivalry between the two were planted when King won the Royal Rampage Battle Royale on the July 1 episode of AEW Rampage by last eliminating Allin to earn a shot at the AEW Interim World Championship. After he unsuccessfully challenged Jon Moxley for the gold on the following episode of AEW Dynamite, Allin and Sting came to the stage. The former TNT Champion told King he belongs in the company and proceeded to offer him a handshake, which the powerhouse brushed off.

AEW retweeted a clip of the assault at the autograph signing. Fans will have to wait and see whether there’s any follow-up in the near-future on AEW TV.
