Valerie Loureda Credits Charlotte Flair For What Drew Her To WWE

Valerie Loureda was captivated by The Queen of WWE.

Prior to signing with WWE, Loureda attended WrestleMania in Dallas, Texas this year. Loureda is expected to report to the WWE Performance Center on July 19th to begin her training in Orlando. Similarly, the WWE Performance Center has developed and aided many superstars in their way up the WWE system, including “The Queen” Charlotte Flair. In a recent chat on Notsam Wrestling, Valerie Loureda named Flair as the reason she was drawn to WWE.

“Charlotte Flair is what did it for me. But, my last fight was in November. In my mind, I was still fighting. Then, I went to WrestleMania — have you guys been to the show? It’s just another level. You go in there and you leave different. And that’s what changed my mind and I just prayed for this opportunity and it came true.”

Charlotte Flair defended the Smackdown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 38 against Ronda Rousey. There, Flair retained her gold in a battle between two fierce competitors.

Much like Flair’s opponent Ronda Rousey, Valerie Loureda enters World Wrestling Entertainment with a background in MMA. Loureda went on to further explain that the interweaving of fighting and entertainment also sold her on signing with WWE.

“When you know me, I am a fighter. I’ve been fighting since three years old, fought MMA for five years. But as a woman, I love–I studied broadcast journalism. I love glamour. I love entertainment. I love costumes. I love wardrobe. I love styling, and I love storytelling. When I look at WWE, it’s everything I love around fighting. That’s me. And my mom was like ‘Valerie, this is what you’re born to do’ and that really made my decision.”

As stated earlier, Loureda will soon report to the WWE Performance Center, coincidentally on the same day as her 24th birthday.
