HBO’s ‘Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel’ Working On Vince McMahon Story

HBO might put Vince McMahon in the spotlight soon.

McMahon is under investigation for reportedly paying over $12 million over the past 16 years to former WWE employees he allegedly had affairs with as part of non-disclosure agreements with them. The Wall Street Journal first broke the news of the investigation on June 13 before a second report on July 8 revealed additional details. Shortly after the first report came out, McMahon stepped back from his duties as Chairman and CEO of WWE for the duration of the investigation.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, mainstream media outlets are working on stories about McMahon. Specifically, HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel” has been getting a story about the former chairman ready and reaching out to former female employees of the company. Johnson noted that a third Wall Street Journal article is expected to drop at some point over the next few weeks.

Variety recently published an article about the allegations against McMahon and how they could potentially affect the company and its media deals.

Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture previously reported that Netflix’s docuseries about McMahon has been pulled from its programming slate.
