Taya Valkyrie Compares Her To IMPACT Wrestling Return To A Homecoming: It Was ‘Magical’

Taya Valkyrie is back at home in IMPACT Wrestling.

The former IMPACT Knockouts World Champion previously worked for the promotion from 2017-2021. She left the company to sign with WWE, and after the latter released her, she made her way back to IMPACT at the Multiverse of Matches event in April. Since then, she has regained her status as a prominent competitor, and she won the IMPACT Knockouts World Tag Team Championship with Rosemary at the Slammmiversary pay-per-view in June.

During an interview with “Gimme A Hull Yeah!“, Valkyrie was asked whether her IMPACT return is comparable to a homecoming, and she agreed. She made it clear that she’s glad to be back.

“Absolutely, it was really magical, and I think I took a few breath and a long sigh of relief,” said Valkyrie. “Everyone there was just been phenomenal since my return. They always have been, even when I was doing what I was doing before. Those people are my family, my friends, and everyone was always checking up on me and seeing how I was doing. So it’s great to be back in that very positive, creative environment again.

Valkyrie already holds several titles, including the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship. When asked, she stated that IMPACT Knockouts World Champion should watch her back.

“Jordynne Grace should always watch her back,” said Valkyrie. “I am not the same Taya that I was when I lost the Knockouts World Championship to her two and a half years ago. I am different. I have been unleashed, and I have evolved into the person I am today and the performer I am. 100% she should watch her back.

“I’m the longest-reigning Knockouts Champion of all time in 20 years if IMPACT. She could be sitting pretty with her Knockouts Championship, but just know that I am always in the shadows, always ready to pounce, and I’m gonna go after what I want, and definitely I see that in the future.”

Rosemary and Valkyrie will defend the titles against VXT at IMPACT Emergence on August 12.
