Report: Two Sets Of Upcoming WWE NXT UK Tapings Cancelled

Is the future of the WWE NXT UK brand in danger?

On August 9, the next two sets of television tapings for NXT UK were canceled due to BT Sports Studios’ coverage of soccer. This announcement has led to a lot of concern from the roster as they don’t understand why WWE couldn’t have just set them up to tape the product somewhere else.

Dave Meltzer provided the latest update on the WWE NXT UK brand in this week’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

“There is a lot of uneasiness within the NXT U.K. crew. The next two sets of television tapings were canceled on 8/9,” Meltzer wrote. “The reason given was that BT Sports Studios, where they tape, had to be used for football/soccer coverage. But as you can imagine with the talent how the reaction is, given you could tape somewhere else and shutting down tapings is never a good sign. Nobody really has been told anything”

The Observer also reports that several WWE NXT UK Superstars are scheduled to travel to the United States to compete in WWE NXT 2.0, including Mark and Joe Coffey, Charlie Dempsey, and others.
