New Japan Pro-Wrestling Pulls Alex Coughlin From Burning Spirit Tour Due To Injury

Alex Coughlin has been pulled from New Japan’s Burning Spirit tour due to an ongoing injury.

On Wednesday, New Japan announced Coughlin has been pulled from the upcoming Burning Spirit tour due to injury and has been replaced by DKC.

From New Japan Pro-Wrestling:

Alex Coughlin replaced by DKC on Burning Spirit Tour

Thank you for supporting New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Alex Coughlin, who was announced this week for the Burning Spirit tour starting September 2 in Yokohama, will miss action due to a left leg injury.

We apologise to fans who were looking forward to seeing Coughlin wrestle and appreciate your understanding.

Coughlin will be replaced in each of his matches on the tour by the LA Dojo’s The DKC. NJPW joins fans in wishing Coughlin a full, speedy recovery.

New Japan’s statement comes after Coughlin recently said that he was not yet ready to return to the ring. NJPW initially announced Coughlin would face Kosei Fujita on September 2 but Coughlin ultimately took to Twitter and said he isn’t ready to compete just yet.

Following New Japan’s announcement, Coughlin also clarified that he’s dealing with the same injury, and it’s not a new one.

“Hell yeah DKC go kill it ‼️ DK FIRE [fire emojis] P.S. – Not a new injury, the same one I’ve been dealing with for the past 2 months,” Coughlin wrote.
