AEW Rampage: Grand Slam Results (9/23): Sting, Eddie Kingston, And More

All Elite Wrestling delivered a loaded episode of AEW Rampage on September 23.

The two-hour “Grand Slam” edition of the show featured the Grand Slam Golden Ticket Battle Royale. Plus, Sting, Eddie Kingston, HOOK, Jade Cargill, and more competed.

The results are as follows:

No Disqualification: Sting and Darby Allin vs. Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews (with Julia Hart)

The two teams quickly start brawling. King levels Allin with a chop. He overpowers Sting and slams him to the mat. Sting rallies and takes the fight to the House of Black duo. He ducks a lariat, forcing King to accidentally nail his own partner. Allin drops King with an avalanche code red for a two count. Sting gets shoved off the top and goes crashing through a table. Hart brings handcuffs into the ring, and the House of Black cuffs him. Allin charges Matthews and eats a lariat from King. Matthews blasts him with a knee to the face. King and Matthews take Allin to the stage and double-team him. Allin hits a Coffin Drop off a lighting structure onto Matthews. King gains the upper hand and chokes Allin. The former TNT Champion fights back, and both men go crashing off the stage.

Matthews returns to the ring, where Sting is still hand-cuffed. He puts “The Icon” in a chair, and Sting laughs at him. Matthews goes to swing a bat, and the lights go out. They come back on, and The Great Muta makes his way to the ring. He approaches Sting and turns around to drop Matthews with a dragon screw. Muta spits green mist at Matthews, and Sting gets free. He drops Matthews with a Scorpion Death Drop.

Winners: Sting and Darby Allin

HOOK and Action Bronson vs. Matt Menard and Angelo Parker

Bronson raps himself and HOOK to the ring. HOOK quickly gains he upper hand by overpowering his opponents. Bronson tags in and squares off with Menard. He drops Menard with a shoulder tackle. He tags HOOK, who suplexes Menard and stretches him in a bow-and-arrow. Parker breaks it up, and the Jericho Appreciation Society duo gains the upper hand. They continue to double-team and isolate HOOK. The FTW Champion rallies with a suplex. Bronson makes the tag and clears house with a flurry of offense. He slams Menard and trucks over Parker with a pounce. HOOK tags in and drills Menard with a lariat. He suplexes Parker and locks in the Redrum. Bronson locks Menard in the hold, too, and both men tap out.

Winners: HOOK and Action Bronson

Wardlow and Samoa Joe vs. Josh Woods and Tony Nese (with “Smart” Mark Sterlong)

Wardlow and Joe charge the ring and take the fight to their opponents. They overpower Nese and Woods. Though the latter duo shows flashes and Wardlow is temporarily removed from the action with a knee injury, Joe scores the win with a Muscle Buster.

Winners: Wardlow and Samoa Joe

Sterling hits Wardlow from behind after the match. Wardlow and Joe gang up on him, and the TNT Champion drops “Smart Mark” with two powerbombs.

Rey Fenix (with Alex Abrahantes) vs. Jungle Boy

Fenix quickly gains the upper hand. Jungle Boy takes him down with a hurricanana. They trade blows, and Fenix blasts Jungle Boy with a kick. Fenix maintains the advantage. Jungle Boy rallies , and the two men exchange chops. Jungle Boy gains momentum with a flurry of offense, punctuated by a lariat. He drops Fenix with a brainbuster for a two count. A superkick and a hurricanrana stun Fenix, but he responds with a cutter. They trade more chops and blows. Jungle Boy scores a two count with a hurricanrana and drills Fenix with a superkick. Fenix kicks Jungle Boy in the face, but the latter fires back with a superkick of his own.

Fenix and Jungle Boy keep battling. A Gory Cutter earns Fenix a two count. Jungle Boy gets a two count of his own with a powerbomb. Jungle Boy catches Fenix with a Cradle Shock for another two count. Fenix hits a frog splash. Jungle Boy rolls Fenix up for the win.

Winner: Jungle Boy

Christian Cage comes to the stage, and his arm is a sling. Luchasaurus’ music hits, and he attacks Jungle Boy from behind. The powerhouse slams Jungle Boy to the mat. Cage says he beat Jungle Boy with a hurt arm and made it look easy. He tells Jungle Boy that he’ll never beat him. Cage calls Luchasarus his right hand of destruction. He then says he wishes Jungle Boy’s family was at ringside so they could see this. Luchasaurus chokeslams Jungle Boy.

The Jericho Appreciation Society is backstage, and they’re celebrating Jericho’s ROH World Championship victory. He says there will be a Chris Jericho Championship Celebration on AEW Dynamite next week. Daniel Garcia tries to say something, but Jericho cuts him off.
