Mark Henry Praises Dusty Rhodes And Yokozuna’s Basketball Skills

Mark Henry says pro wrestling had a couple of ballers in Dusty Rhodes and Yokozuna.

All Elite Wrestling’s Mark Henry spoke with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson for Bovada, who asked Henry who might win a pick-up basketball game between himself, Kevin Nash and The Undertaker. Henry added a new name to the mix and said the late Dusty Rhodes was a great basketball player, then shared one more and said Yokozuna deserved props too.

“I think that Dusty Rhodes would’ve beat everybody. Shit yeah, man! Dusty could dribble, he could shoot… he wasn’t a dunker because he was very athletic but he was shifty. You know who else was good? [Yokozuna]. At 500lbs, Yoko could ball man! Yes sir, you better Google it,” Henry said.

Henry then talked about the original matchup Robinson pitched and said he doesn’t think he could beat the opposition, but he’d at least get one moment to shine.

“The Undertaker, Paul Wight, Kevin Nash… they were basketball players. That’s what they did in college. I’m not gonna sit here and be like, I would’ve been able to beat these college basketball players… No. They would’ve did me. But if it was a game situation,” Henry explained, “at some point I would’ve caught them with their head turned and point at the rim and then I was gonna get my moment because I was gonna put my nuts on they neck! I know it.

“In my prime, I got five people that you can call that I played with; a couple of ‘em that were pro players, that will tell you that ‘Mark will dunk on you if you turn your back on him’ because I’m going to the basket. I was a cutter,” Henry noted. “Spin move, baseline, baby! I’m pointing at the rim… go get it! I had a 32” vertical!”

Henry’s claims about Dusty Rhodes might not come as a surprise to some. A few years ago, a clip of Dusty’s hardcourt skills went viral, and the clip showed Dusty draining a three-point basket during a charity basketball game that saw the NWA roster face off with the Charlotte Police Department.
