Britt Baker doesn’t understand the fan backlash when it comes to her friendship with Jamie Hayter in All Elite Wrestling.

Dr. Britt Baker was a recent guest on Busted Open Radio with Dave LaGreca, Mickie James, and Tommy Dreamer to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked if the current reactions that Jamie Hayter is getting from the All Elite Wrestling fanbase bother her, Baker said it doesn’t and says she’s incredibly proud of what Hayter has accomplished thus far.

“No, I’m so incredibly proud of Jamie,” Britt Baker said. “I mean, I literally handpicked Jamie. I went to Tony Khan and said, ‘Hey, we need this girl. She’s amazing.’ Because I wrestled her in the UK in a dive bar years ago, and we’ve been friends ever since. I am Jamie’s number one fan. There’s nobody out there that wants Jamie to win this title more than I do because it is her time. This is Jamie Hayter’s era right now, and I get to be along for the ride.

“But I don’t understand what these fans are in an uproar about. What better for Jamie Hayter than to have the face of the women’s division in her corner on her side? That, to me, doesn’t make much sense, but I don’t know. These are the same fans that say I don’t do any work, either. Everything is handed to me, but I think it’s gonna be a huge night for both Jamie and myself. Jamie is so deserving of every opportunity. She’s so deserving to have the title. I have nothing but respect for Toni Storm. I don’t like her. I respect her, but this is Jamie’s time.”

When asked if the hate she gets online fuels her desire to be even better than she is right now, Baker admitted that kind of stuff definitely motivates her.

“Yeah, it definitely does motivate me,” Britt Baker admitted. “There’s definitely times where some of the snide remarks will get to you, but I would never show that because you don’t want to let them see you sweat, and at the end of the day, it’s frustration more than anything more than like feeling hurt or sad. It’s frustration when a narrative is out there that’s so incredibly false.

“And there’s nothing you can do about it because if you start to chime in and play the game, and it blows up from a spark into a blazing fire then. Which you don’t want that either, so you kind of just have to sit back and bite your tongue and which I’m not very good at, but I’m getting better at writing and letting them talk their shit because that’s what they’re going to do. But for me, yeah, the biggest emotion I feel when I see that stuff is just pure frustration.”

Baker elaborated on the hate she gets online, stating that she doesn’t get upset about people critiquing her work and promos because it helps her get better at her craft. But the things that get under her skin are the personal attacks from people who act like they know what’s going on backstage and in her personal life.

“I don’t even get so up in arms about people critiquing my work or my promos. Because for me, that’s good,” Britt Baker said. “I like to hear all the different flavors of what I’m putting out there. Well, how are people reacting to what I’m saying or what I’m doing in the ring? It’s more so the personal attacks that people know everything that’s going on backstage, they know what’s going on at home, that’s what really gets under my skin, and it’s so frustrating, but you cannot let it get to you like you said you because what at the end of the day, we’re here for business and we need to be stars on TV. They don’t know what goes on backstage, and we just have to remember that, and they’re going to talk and act like they do until the end of time. But at end of the day, they don’t.”
