AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament Semifinal And More Set For AEW Full Gear: Zero Hour

Ricky Starks is going to the next round of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament, which will be held at AEW Full Gear.

On the November 11 episode of AEW Rampage, Ricky Starks was scheduled to face Lance Archer in a quarterfinal match, but “The Murderhawk Monster” attacked Starks two days before the bout. As a result, Starks was unable to compete, so the match was postponed to the following week. Tony Khan subsequently noted that Starks was dealing with an injury, so the bout had to be delayed. Once they finally clashed on the November 18 episode, the former FTW Champion emerged victorious.

As a result of the win, Starks will advance to AEW Full Gear: Zero Hour, where he’ll face his former Team Taz stablemate Brian Cage in a semifinal match. Ethan Page will be waiting for the winner of that match in the finals, which will be held on the November 23 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Plus, Eddie Kingston will battle Jun Akiyama in a singles match. For years, Kingston has been rallying for a match against the DDT Pro-Wrestling star, who previously rose to stardom with AJPW and Pro Wrestling NOAH. They clashed in a tag team match on the November 18 episode of AEW Rampage, where Akiyama teamed up with Konosuke Takeshita to defeat Kingston and Ortiz. After the end of the live broadcast, Kingston demanded a singles match with Akiyama, and AEW President Tony Khan announced the bout for AEW Full Gear: Zero Hour on November 19.

Finally, Rocky Romero, the Best Friends (Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor, and Trent Beretta) will team up with a “Very Evil, Very Mysterious” partner to face The Factory (QT Marshall, Aaron Solo, Lee Johnson, Nick Comoroto, and Cole Karter). On Friday’s episode of AEW Rampage, a video clip teased that Danhausen is the Best Friends’ partner, but his identity hasn’t been confirmed yet.

WrestleZone will have coverage of the show as it airs on Saturday night.
