Trey Miguel has some interesting plans in store for IMPACT’s Hard To Ki-Ki-Kill pay-per-view.

During a recent interview with WrestleZone, Trey Miguel spoke about being inspired by Miles Morales and Spider-Man. His “Spider-Trey” gimmick came when he was in the midst of a babyface run, but now says he might revisit some of that universe’s villains.

“If anything, I may start tapping into some of the villains in the Spider-Man Spider-Verse. I think that could be something that could be cool to play with, to still like show my interest and appreciation for Spider-Man,” Trey said. “Also, whenever I’m watching wrestling, I’m always a huge fan of when someone does something that I’m familiar with that absolutely has nothing to do with wrestling. Like when Seth Rollins showed up in the Elton John gear recently, the flamingo flame suit, which is the first thing you see him wearing in the ‘Rocket Man’ movie.

“I immediately picked that out — I’m a big movie buff. So, when people do movie references, I love that. Sami Callihan’s ‘Pulp Fiction’ reference, the whole Tarantino scheme, that stuff I go crazy for,” he added.

Trey then noted that IMPACT Wrestling’s next pay-per-view, Hard To Kill, takes place on Friday, January 13, and teased pulling some inspiration from the film series featuring Jason Voorhees.

“So when we get to Hard to Kill for Friday the 13th, you can definitely expect I’m doing some Jason Voorhees-themed [gear] because I love movies and horror movies happen to be my favorite genre,” Trey said. “The 70s and 80s slashers, that’s my jam.”

Staying on the topic of slasher films, Trey pointed out the similarities between the recently released Halloween Ends and Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (aka Friday The 13th Part IX).

“When Halloween Ends dropped, everyone compared it to the Friday series Jason Goes To Hell because you hardly had Jason in the movie as himself or there was him and all these other forms and whatnot, which is essentially what we kind of got in Halloween Ends. But still, for that being vastly the majority of everyone that watches the entire series, least favorite, it’s still a damn good movie. I still turn on Jason Goes To Hell and I’m happy about it. I think Jason X is by far the worst, but I still turn that movie on and love watching it too. We’re also getting a Peacock series of Friday The 13th, so that’s really exciting too,” Trey noted. “I try to draw inspirations from anything that isn’t pro wrestling whenever I’m picking out these things that I want to bring to wrestling where they’re just like the Spider-Man thing and stuff like that.”

Trey Miguel is set to defend his title against Black Taurus at IMPACT Wrestling’s Hard To Kill event.
