Bully Ray: I’m Going To ‘Stick Around’ IMPACT Wrestling For A While

Bully Ray says he’s going to “stick around” in IMPACT Wrestling.

Ray returned to IMPACT at Bound For Glory 2022, where he won the Call Your Shot Gauntlet match to earn a title shot of his choosing. He later cashed that opportunity in on IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander. The two stars feuded for several weeks heading into the Hard To Kill pay-per-view. There, Alexander defeated Ray in a Full Metal Mayhem Match to retain the gold.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Ray commented on his future and stated that he will be sticking around in IMPACT Wrestling for a while. He also discussed his match against Alexander and the story they told. The veteran noted that he aims to have his stories culminate like an action movie, where the bad guy “gets his” and the good guy gets the girl.

“I’m gonna be sticking around for a while,” Ray said. “Revenge is definitely on my mind, whether that’s with Josh Alexander, whether that’s with his wife, whether that’s with Tommy Dreamer. So we’ll see what’s gonna happen. I am gonna stick around. Last night was a very violent, very brutal match, as a Full Metal Mayhem Match always is. When you take a match like that and you put it together, there’s going to be so much violence, but how do you make sense of it all?

“So when I tell my stories week after week after week, I always want it to culminate with a match that kind of looks like the end of an action movie, the final scene of an action movie, where the good guys and the bad guys fight, and the bad guy finally gets his, and the good guy gets the girl, and everybody gets to celebrate. That’s the vision I had in my mind for last night.”

IMPACT held its latest set of television tapings on January 14. Spoilers are available here.
