Keiji Mutoh Injured In Last Great Muta Match For Pro Wrestling NOAH

Keiji Mutoh‘s last match as The Great Muta in Pro Wrestling NOAH didn’t exactly go according to plan.

The Great Muta wrestled his final match in Pro Wrestling NOAH alongside Sting and Darby Allin of All Elite Wrestling as they went on to defeat the team of Hakushi, Naomichi Marufiji, and AKIRA. But Mutoh came out of the match a little bit worse for wear.

According to Satoshi Maeda of Tokyo Sports, The Great Muta suffered a muscle tear in both thighs during his match on January 22.

Mutoh is scheduled to compete against Tetsuya Naito in the Tokyo Dome on February 21 for New Japan Pro-Wrestling. This injury could certainly throw a wrench into Mutoh’s retirement match in less than three weeks’ time.

Despite this setback, Mutoh seems determined to have his scheduled match against Natio, stating the following regarding his injury.

“I’m going to have a good match, but I played a match 10 days ago and tore a muscle in my thigh,” Keiji Mutoh said. “I’m in a pinch, but I’ll do my best.”
