DDP: Sami Zayn Is ‘Top Guy Money’, He Will Draw In A Main Event Spot

WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page believes Sami Zayn should be patient, as far as his run in the spotlight is concerned.

In recent months, Zayn has become one of the most popular stars in WWE through his prominent part in a storyline that centers around The Bloodline, a stable that features Undisputed WWE Champion Roman Reigns, The Usos, and Solo Sikoa, as well as the “Special Counsel” Paul Heyman.

Zayn gradually became a member of the group as the “Honorary Uce” before he ultimately turned on Reigns at WWE Royal Rumble. He then faced “The Tribal Chief” in a high-profile match at WWE Elimination Chamber, where Reigns beat the fan-favorite to retain the gold.

Speaking with Alfred Konuwa of Forbes, Discussed the storyline and compared The Bloodline to the New World Order. He praised what they have been doing before he recalled speaking with Zayn at WWE Royal Rumble.

“The Bloodline aren’t necessarily heels,” Page said. They’re kind of like the NWO in a way where they’re cool and they’re bad asses…and Sami’s caught in the middle of it, and the stuff has been brilliant that they’ve done with the Bloodline. I literally walked up to Sami at the Rumble and gave him a hug. He thanked me for continuing to let him use my DDP Yoga program. I give it to all the guys, and he’s one of the guys who actually uses it, quite often.”

DDP continued by emphasizing that he enjoys The Bloodline storyline. He noted that, on paper, it may not seem like Zayn is “money”, but he could be a top-level draw if he’s given the opportunity to do so. Page then stated that he told Zayn to be patient because “it’s gonna happen” for him.

“I love the Bloodline stuff,” Page said. “Sami is a guy that, if you look at it, you don’t say ‘that guy’s money.’ But if you watch him and his storylines, and his interviews and his work in the ring, he’s money. He’s top guy money. Put him in a main event and he will draw, especially against the Bloodline, but really anyone.”

“I told him ‘bro, I love what you’re doing. Just be patient. Because it’s gonna happen.’ That’s the hardest thing for talent, is to be patient.”

Eric Bischoff recently compared Zayn’s rise to that of DDP in WCW. Check out his comments here.
