AEW Rampage Results (3/3/23): 4-Way Tag Team Match

All Elite Wrestling delivered an action-packed episode of AEW Rampage on March 3.

Tonight, Top Flight, John Silver & Alex Reynolds, Wheeler Yuta & Claudio Castagnoli, and Aussie Open will battle it out in a four-way tag team match. All four teams competed in the Casino Tag Team Royale on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

Castagnoli and Yuta eliminated Silver and Reynolds, but the Dark Order duo later came to ringside and distracted them, leading to their own elimination. Top Flight were eliminated by Aussie Open at another point in the match. Elsewhere in the night, Lee and Dustin Rhodes will face Strickland and Parker Boudreaux of Mogul Affiliates.

The results are as follows:

Match 1: Blackpool Combat Club defeats Aussie Open, Top Flight, and Dark order via pinfall

In the opening match, a huge 4-way tag team bout took place, and despite looking like they were going to lose for most of the match, things flipped in the Blackpool Combat Club’s way at the last minute. Towards the end of the match, after John Silver and Alex Reynolds hit Darius Martin with a series of big moves, Wheeler Yuta ran into the ring and threw out Dark Order, and pinned Martin himself for the win.

Segment: Jungle Boy

In a vignette in between matches, Jungle Boy said that he’ll fight Cage at AEW Revolution, and will put him in a hole in the ground. He then said that there will be “grave” consequences, and called the match “The Final Burial,” potentially hinting that it could be a Buried Alive Match.

Match 2: Riho defeats Emi Sakura via pinfall

In a big match between two of the biggest female superstars in All Elite Wrestling, it was Riho that walked out with a win. Late in the match, she ended up missing a foot stomp from the top rope, but countered a throw into the ropes by Sakura by getting herself wrapped around Sakura’s body.

As the two struggled, Riho then pulled her down and rolled her up for the win, potentially strengthening her shot at a future title match.

Match 3: Powerhouse Hobbs defeats Serpentico via pinfall

In a relatively quick match, Hobbs put down Serpentico with a a clothesline, spinebuster, and then put him in a torture rack. He ended things by slamming down his opponent for an easy pin and win.

Following the match, Hobbs posed with the brass ring that he won in the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match. He then began talking trash, saying that it doesn’t matter whether Samoa Joe or Wardlow walk out of AEW Revolution with the TNT Championship, because he’d be winning it next week on AEW Dynamite.

Backstage segment: Konosuke Takeshita

In an interview with Renee Paquette, Takeshita said that he’s been frustrated with his lack of wins in AEW so far, and said it might be time for him to go back to Japan. Don Callis then interrupted, and offered Takeshita his guidance in an effort for the star to become more successful in AEW.

If it didn’t work, Callis said, he’d personally drive Takeshita to the airport so he can head home to Japan.

Match 4: Keith Lee & Dustin Rhodes defeat Swerve Strickland & Parker Boudreaux via pinfall

In the highly anticipated main event of the night, Lee and Rhodes proved to be a formidable team, as the duo were the most aggressive from the very start. Once Lee got into the ring against Strickland, specifically, things turned, as Lee hit a huge chokeslam on him that gave the team of Lee and Rhodes the momentum.

Late in the match, after Swerve got a stomp in on Lee following a Parker low blow, Lee kicked out, and Dustin hit the Canadian Destroyer on Strickland. Lee then picked up Dustin and tossed him onto Parker, as Strickland panicked and began running from Lee. Instead of chasing him, though, Lee simply picked up Boudreaux and hit him with the Jackhammer for the win.

After the match, Ricky Starks ambushed Chris Jericho at the commentary table as the show came to a close, with the brawl ending the night and providing a big cliffhanger to Sunday’s AEW Revolution.
