Johnny Gargano says “Daddy’s home” now that he’s back in NXT.
“Johnny Wrestling” returned to NXT for the first time since December 2021 on the “Roadblock” edition of WWE NXT on March 7. He confronted Grayson Waller after Shawn Michaels announced that the two stars would face off at NXT Stand & Deliver.
In a tweet, Gargano shared his thoughts on his return by referencing his previous appearance, in which he unofficially said goodbye to the brand before Waller viciously attacked him with a chair. Gargano noted that, in that promo, he wanted to teach his son to be the best man he could be. He then took a page out of his former tag team partner Tommaso Ciampa’s book by saying, “Daddy’s Home.” A clip of Gargano’s wife, Candice LeRae, and their son, Quill, watching Johnny’s return was included in the tweet.
Gargano posted another tweet and wrote that Waller ended Gargano’s story on a cliffhanger, and at NXT Stand & Deliver, he would shut the Australian star up and close the book his way. Gargano also used the hashtags “JohnnyTakeOver” and “OneMoreTime” to highlight the importance of the match.
“Because of you.. my story in @WWENXT ended on a cliffhanger 15 months ago,” Gargano wrote. “You took my moment from me and I never forgot that. I waited patiently for the right time & place. April 1st.. Wrestlemania Weekend.. I shut you up & close the book my way.”
Gargano was previously seen as the face of NXT during his run on the brand; he is the first NXT Triple Crown Champion and the only three-time NXT North American Champion.
