AEW Dynamite Results (3/29/23): Adam Cole Returns To The Ring, Omega vs. Cobb

All Elite Wrestling will deliver a star-studded show with the March 29 episode of AEW Dynamite.

The results are as follows:

“Jungle Boy” Jack Perry vs. Matt Hardy (with Ethan Page)

Perry lock up and feel each other out. Perry showcases his athleticism and gains an early advantage. Perry steps in and prevents Perry from diving on Hardy. Matt capitalizes and hits a Side Effect at ringside. Hardy takes control, but Perry keeps fighting. Hardy hits a Side Effect onto the apron. Back in the ring, Hardy slams Perry head-first into the turnbuckle. Perry perseveres, but the interference of Page helps Hardy gain the upper hand. HOOK comes to the ring and takes the fight to Page. Perry drops Hardy with a Flatliner. Perry catches Hardy with a stiff strike and pins him.

Winner: “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry

AEW World Champion MJF cuts off Perry’s celebration. He calls Perry crashing his Re-Bar Mitzvah “kind of a Kanye move” and agrees with Perry that he’s had it easy. MJF says his job is a “joke”, and he collects a big check. MJF says Perry has worked hard, but his career has been “mid.” He tells Perry the only person he should be mad at is himself. MJF recalls their match at Double or Nothing 2020 and admits he thought Perry was the person he’d be fighting for the rest of his career. Perry says MJF told him that nice guys finish last, and he’d only get ahead if he ditched his friends. MJF says Jurassic Express held Perry back, but “Jungle Boy” and MJF could have run AEW if he had listened.

Perry admits that he wishes he was more like MJF, as he wishes he had his confidence and his promo skills. Perry calls him a “narcissistic piece of sh–“, and he vows to do it his way. Perry says he’ll beat MJF, and when he does, he won’t hate the person he has become. MJF responds by saying Perry is a massive disappointment and calling him weak. MJF brings up Perry’s girlfriend and says she said he’s “weak between the knees.” They brawls and Perry gains the upper hand, forcing MJF to leave the ring.

Backstage, Kenny Omega is getting ready for his match against Jeff Cobb. Omega is upset with Don Callis for pretending Hangman Page attacked him last week. Callis seemingly offers to go apologize to Page, and he leaves.

Matt Menard and Angelo Parker take The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Matt Menard) out for a night out on the time. They go to a hockey game, have some some food, and ride a merry-go-round. The Acclaimed say they will give the Jericho Appreciation Society an answer next week.

Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta & Claudio Castagnoli) vs. Dalton Castle and The Boys

The Blackpool Combat Club attacks Castle and The Boys during their entrance. Castagnoli slams one of the Boys to score a dominant win.

Winners: Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta & Claudio Castagnoli)

Backstage, Hangman Page says Nick Jackson has a partially separated shoulder, and Matt’s bicep is partially torn. He blames the Blackpool Combat Club for the attack. Callis shows up, and he apologizes. He offers Hangman a handshake, which distracts Page as the Blackpool Combat Club attacks Page. Moxley levels Callis as well.

IWGP United States Championship: Kenny Omega (c) vs. Jeff Cobb

Backstage, Tony Schiavone tells Omega about Callis and Page getting attacked. Omega takes a moment to think about it before he makes his entrance. Omega and Cobb square off. Cobb mocks Omega’s finger gun taunt. Omega hits a hurricanrana and dives onto Cobb at ringside. Back in the ring, Cobb slams Omega and drops him with a brainbuster. The challenger sends Omega spine-first into the turnbuckle.

Cobb follows Omega to the outside and hits him with some stiff blows. He drives Omega’s spine into the ring post. Cobb gets Omega back in the ring and dominates him with bear-hug. He hits a splash in the corner. Omega fires back with a running strike. He hits a rolling Polish Hammer. Cobb stuns Omega with a heavy blow. Omega blasts Cobb with a knee strike. The champion hits a Dragon suplex. Cobb levels Omega with a lariat. Omega and Cobb trade blows on the top rope. Cobb wins the battle and hits a superplex. Cobb and Omega trade counters. Omega hits the V-trigger. He hits another one and slams Cobb with the One-Winged Angel for the win.

The Blackpool Combat Club confronts Omega, but Bryan Danielson makes the save. He’s clearly upset with the BCC for their actions. Danielson and Omega are seemingly on the same page, but Danielsin turns on Omega and drops him with a running knee. The BCC gangs up on Omega, and Danielson traps him in the LeBell Lock. The BCC stands tall as a united front.

The Gunns cut a promo on FTR and say that they’ve reached greatness in two years, whereas it took FTR 19 years to get there. They say FTR used to be their heroes, but now they hate them. The champions say it’ll actually be “top guys, out.”

AEW International Championship: Orange Cassidy (c) vs. The Butcher

The Blade attacks Cassidy during his entrance. The Butcher and The Blade briefly gang up on Cassidy, but The Butcher gets ejected from ringside. The Butcher pounds Cassidy with some heavy blows. Cassidy “kicks” the challenger and eats more strikes. The Butcher catches a diving Cassidy and slams him into the corner. He targets the champion’s ribs. The Butcher slams Cassidy from the powerbomb position into the barricade. He continues to control the action. The Butcher traps Cassidy in a Texas Clover Leaf. Cassidy rakes at his eyes and escapes. The Butcher hits a choke-breaker. Cassidy rocks him with a Stun-dog Millionaire and a DDT. The Blade sneaks back in and hits Cassidy with a crowbar. The Butcher slams Cassidy for a two count. The Best Friends make the save by taking out The Blade. They also attack The Butcher when the referee isn’t looking. Cassidy hits the Beach Break for the win.

In a promo, TBS Champion Jade Cargill discusses her feud with Taya Valkyrie. She’s upset Valkyrie continues to use her move. Cargill and Mark Sterling say that Valkyrie will have a match with Sterling’s “legal processor” on AEW Rampage, with “Smart” Mark threatening to sue the AEW newcomer.

Juice Robinson notes that he’ll be facing Action Andretti on AEW Rampage, and he hypes up his match with Juice Robinson on next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

Willow Nightingale vs. Ruby Soho (with Saraya & Toni Stom)

Soho leaves the ring, but Nightingale grabs her and gets her back in the ring. Willow slams Soho and hits a crossbody. Willow gains more momentum with a series of strikes. Soho distracts the referee, and Saraya attacks Willow. Soho takes control and grounds Willow. Nightingale rallies and slams Soho with a Death Valley Driver for a two count. Soho hits the No Future for a two count. Willow gets a two count of her own with a backslide. She levels Soho with a Pounce. Storm stops Nightingale from hitting a Doctor Bomb. Soho rolls Willow up, and Storm holds her feet down to make sure Willow can’t kick out.

Winner: Ruby Soho

The Outcasts attack Willow, and Skye Blue and Riho try to make the save. AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter comes down to even the odds, and she stares down Riho, her opponent next week.

Adam Cole vs. Daniel Garcia

The crowd is hot for Cole’s return, as he hasn’t wrestled since June 2022. Cole and Garcia feel each other out. Garcia gains the upper hand, and he disrespectfully wipes his feet on the canvas. Garcia takes control again and drops Cole with a piledriver. He maintains the advantage. Cole fights back and drills Garcia with a pump kick. He drops Garcia with a neck-breaker. Garcia dumps Cole on his head with a German suplex. Cole goes for his running knee, but Garcia evades it and drills Cole with several elbow strikes. Garcia rolls through the Panama Sunrise and locks in a deep Sharpshooter until Cole reaches the ropes. Garcia spikes Cole with a piledriver. Cole hits the Panama Sunrise. He hits the Boom for the win.

Winner: Adam Cole

Britt Baker comes to the ring and celebrates with Cole. Confetti rains down to punctuate the joyful moment. Chris Jericho comes down and helps Garcia to the back. Jericho glances back at Cole, teasing a feud between the two.
