Sting cut a rare promo on the April 12 episode of AEW Dynamite.
After Darby Allin defeated Swerve Strickland in the opening match of AEW Dynamite on Wednesday, AEW World Champion MJF made his way out to talk down Allin once again. Allin fired back with his own story and told the champ that he should try therapy.
Before long, “The Icon” Sting came out and threw pom-poms in MJF’s face to clarify that he’s Allin’s support system rather than his father. Sting also poked fun at the fact that MJF lost his support system in Cody Rhodes before shouting out Ric Flair for supporting him in his early days.
Sting added that “showtime is almost over” for him, however it’s just getting started for Allin, who he believes is next to win the AEW World title. Allin echoed that sentiment by vowing to win the gold, but MJF spat in his face before retreating.
