Saraya: Bayley Texted Me After My Match At AEW Revolution

Saraya reflects on her match at AEW Revolution and noted that WWE star Bayley texted her after the bout.

Saraya, formerly known as Paige, was forced to retire from in-ring competition due to a neck injury in 2018. She left WWE on July 2022 and subsequently signed with All Elite Wrestling. Saraya returned to the ring at AEW Full Gear 2022, and she challenged for the AEW Women’s World Championship at AEW Revolution 2023. There, she faced Ruby Soho and the defending champion, Jamie Hayter.

Speaking with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Saraya recalled the high-profile title match. She noted that she felt like herself again. This confidence apparently showed, as WWE star Bayley sent her words of encouragement after the bout.

“It’s the first time for the time I came back where I just felt confident again, I felt like myself again,” Saraya said. “I feel like it shows. I even had Bayley text me at the time. She text me after and she was like, “You can see the old Raya coming back!” I was like, it feels like it, it really feels like it.”

Saraya also praised her opponents in the match, and she made it clear that she had a great experience with the bout.

“Jamie’s amazing, she’s just so easy to work with,” Saraya said. “As soon as we were putting this match together, she was like, “Yeah I’ll do whatever.” She’s so easy to work with, and so is Ruby. Everyone is, but I just had the time of my life.”

On the May 17 episode of AEW Dynamite, Saraya, Soho, and Toni Storm will face Hayter, Britt Baker, and Hikaru Shida. Check out the card here.
