Orange Cassidy is seemingly set to face Zack Sabre Jr. at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
During the June 14 episode of AEW Dynamite, NJPW World Television Champion Zack Sabre Jr. confronted AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy backstage and challenged Cassidy to put his title on the line against him at Forbidden Door. As of this writing, the match has not been confirmed yet.
Cassidy previously expressed his interest in facing Sabre Jr. during the AEW Double or Nothing post-show media scrum.
Sabre Jr. competed in an open challenge at last year’s Forbidden Door event and lost to the debuting Claudio Castagnoli. Cassidy was also on last year’s card as he lost to Will Ospreay in an IWGP U.S. title match.
