Willow Nightingale accepts the challenge.
Giulia called out Nightingale after she joined forces with Thekla and Mai Sakurai to beat Hazuki, Mayu Iwatani, and Koguma in a cage match at STARDOM SUNSHINE 2023 on June 25. She made it clear that she wanted to go overseas and challenge herself by facing Nightingale.
NJPW then shared a video in which Nightingale responded to the challenge. She stated that she wants to defend the title against the best, and she looks forward to facing Giulia. The post promoted NJPW STRONG Independence Day on July 4 & 5, but as of this writing, the match has not been confirmed yet.
Nightingale won the title by defeating Mercedes Moné in the finals of a one-night tournament at NJPW Resurgence. She unsuccessfully challenged Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
