Report: Kevin Owens Dealing With Legitimate Injury

Kevin Owens is reportedly battling a legitimate injury.

Owens, one-half of the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, appeared on the July 24 episode of WWE RAW. His tag team partner, Sami Zayn, lost to “Sami Zayn “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio on the show. At the end of the bout, Owens was shown laid out on the stage. He was then checked on by the medical team and other officials.

WRKD Wrestling reports that Owens has suffered a legitimate injury that is being used to advance the storyline. It is not clear how long he will be sidelined.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful confirmed the news by noting that Owens is battling a legitimate injury. He wrote that he doesn’t have a timetable for Owens’ absence.

Owens last wrestled on the July 17 episode of WWE RAW, where he and Zayn beat Mysterio and Damian Priest.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.

Kevin Owens’ Goals For Title Run

Kevin Owens recently made it clear that he had lofty goals for his title run with Sami Zayn, Speaking with Alex McCarthy of Inside The Ropes, he said he wanted their reign to live up to that of The Usos.

“I really want to work very hard to, once we’re all said and done with these titles and somebody else takes them from us, I want our run to be talked about in the same vein as The Usos’, so that’s a challenge in itself because they did really incredible. Those guys, if anything, now, finally they’re getting their flowers. But they’ve been, in my opinion, underappreciated for a long time, so that was a big concern to me. I want to live up to the work they’ve done, and we’re obviously working our heart out to try to make sure that happens. So I guess that’s the one concern for us, and that part of it is to make sure these titles stay at the forefront of the stories and keep being as important as they’ve been the last few months.”

Owens and Zayn won the titles by defeating The Usos at WWE WrestleMania 39.
