The first two matches have been announced for WWE NXT Heatwave.
During the August 8 episode of NXT, Ilja Dragunov called out Trick Williams to respond to his actions from the NXT Great American Bash main event.
After they disagreed over how Dragunov ran into Williams and the NXT Championship that night, Williams officially laid out a challenge to face Dragunov one-on-one. Dragunov accepted and claimed Williams’ career will “die” at the next televised special titled Heatwave in two weeks on August 22.
Additionally, Nathan Frazer will defend the NXT Heritage Cup. On the August 8 episode, Tyler Bate beat Noam Dar to win his Heritage Cup. He later gave the trophy back to Dar at Frazer’s request. In exchange, Frazer told Dar he would give him a shot at the Heritage Cup at NXT Heatwave.
