Thunder Rosa provides a major update on her recovery.
Former AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa has been sidelined siince August 2022, and she has been on her way back to the ring in recent months.
On her latest vlog, Rosa shared a meeting she had with Dr. Michael J. Sampson, AEW’s ringside doctor. She noted that fans have been asking for an update on her return to the ring. Sampson responded by stating that Rosa has been doing well. He announced that Rosa will have a mini-match next week, which will be a major test in her recovery.
“She’s been doing well,” Sampson said. “We’re in week four. She’s been religious with her training, as she always has been. Religious with her training, doing everything we’ve asked her to do. Next week, we’re gonna be in Greensboro, North Carolina, and we’re gonna do a five-minute mini-match and see how you tolerate that. We’re just taking the steps up. If that looks good, we’re almost there.”
Thunder Rosa Is Almost Cleared
In the same video, Rosa asked Sampson whether she was almost cleared. He stated that she’s almost there.
“You are almost there. We’re following protocols,” he said. “You’re doing everything as expected to be, your body’s listening to you. Even though, again, still there, but you’re getting stronger around it, so you’re taking the stress off of it. So no, you’re doing very well.”
Rosa thanked Sampson for his support and asked if three weeks was a realistic timeline. He responded by noting that was fair.
