Lacey Evans Explains Decision To Leave WWE, Will Open Her Own Café

As reported a few days ago, Lacey Evans (Macey Estrella) made the decision to let her WWE contract expire and become a free agent. Estrella spoke with The Island News about her next steps and why she chose to leave WWE.

It was revealed that Estrella is opening ‘Sunny Summers Café’ in Beaufort, South Carolina. The location is set to be a brightly colored and inviting space where you can purchase coffee, a sweet treat or a savory bite to eat.

She feels like this is an opportunity to spend more time with her family and give back to a community she loves. Estrella said, “I thought I could be of more assistance fighting a different fight than in the WWE ring. I want to focus on helping my community to fight against addiction and fight on the mental health side to normalize mental health issues.”

Estrella says she plans on offering local rehabilitation and community organizations such as Alcoholics Anonymous free coffee and donuts in addition to having a place to gather. Another things she would like to do is teach women and military spouses critical skills that will allow them to get jobs and follow their goals.

She said, “I wanted to create a space where people could come in and unplug from their devices, but also unplug from their minds as well. The cellphone has replaced your computer. The cellphone has replaced your camera. Don’t let it replace your family.” She plans on offering free donuts to those that agree to put their phone in ‘cellphone jail’ when they arrive.

Sunny Summers Café will be open daily at 5am until 6pm. You can see the website here.
