Shane Helms: Logan Paul Has Been The Easiest To Coach, He’s A Firecracker

Shane Helms opens up about his experience working behind the scenes with Logan Paul.

Shane Helms has comfortably settled into his role as a producer for WWE. Of course, not everything is as easy as it may seem. Along the way, Helms has encountered some challenges. Instead of fearing them, though, Helms has embraced them.

Speaking with Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Helms discussed his time producing matches for social media sensation Logan Paul. While training celebrities typically presents some added difficulties, Helms has thoroughly enjoyed his time working alongside Logan Paul.

“Of anybody I’ve trained, coached, mentored in the business, he’s been the easiest,” Helms said. “Maybe because he doesn’t have this background of previous coaches in this business at least, I got this clean slate. But it’s really like, ‘Hey I think you can do this’ and ‘can you do this?’ He’ll get inspired and then he’ll start finding clips. Then he’ll send me clips of him doing whatever off the top rope and is like ‘Hey, what about this?’ [I’m like] ‘Oh, we’re definitely going to do that.'”

“He’s a firecracker, and it’s been a real pleasure,” Helms continued. “It’s been a challenge for sure, because there’s a lot of money invested [in him], so you want to produce what the company wants from you. It’s been challenging, but it’s [also] been so much fun.”

As Paul continues to expand his resume inside the wrestling ring, Helms believes Paul can unravel even more layers of his athleticism. “Every match with him has been different, so I’m really proud of that too — showing the different layers of what he can athletically,” Helms said.

Most recently, Logan Paul defeated Ricochet at WWE SummerSlam.
