Logan Paul believes Conor McGregor’s UFC career could be over after UFC 329, and he already has an idea for what should come next.
Speaking during a live episode of the IMPAULSIVE podcast at Fanatics Fest with former UFC Bantamweight Champion Sean O’Malley, Paul revealed that he pitched a WWE match with McGregor right after UFC 329.
While O’Malley thinks McGregor still has another UFC fight left in him, Paul feels the former two-division champion can’t fight in the octagon anymore.
Logan Paul wants to face Conor McGregor in WWE
During the podcast, Sean O’Malley said he believes McGregor will eventually return to the UFC.
Logan Paul wasn’t so sure. He questioned whether McGregor could still compete at the highest level after spending nearly five years away from regular MMA competition.
Paul said McGregor has become more of an entertainer than an active fighter and believes WWE would be the perfect place for him next.
“Something I find so funny, he definitely has roasted the WWE and WWE superstars in the past. He put out a tweet dissing Roman Reigns…the Roman Reigns tweet was recently. At the moment, Conor is doing WWE. He is incapable of fighting,” Paul said.
He then revealed that he texted his WWE boss immediately after UFC 329.
“I’ll be honest with you. I texted my boss after Conor lost. I was like, ‘Bro, Conor’s cooked. Do something with it. Make a bag. Let me fight him. Big WWE star versus big WWE star, because that’s what he is now,'” Paul said.
According to Paul, his boss replied by saying he believes McGregor is done with combat sports.
Paul clearly sees a massive opportunity in a WWE match with McGregor, believing it could become one of the biggest crossover events in wrestling.
However, O’Malley didn’t agree with Paul’s opinion. He said he still believes McGregor has one more UFC fight left in him.
Paul, however, pointed to the former UFC Champion’s injuries and long time away from the cage.
“Are you sure, my guy? Are you sure? I don’t know, Sean. I don’t know. He’s on that knee now,” Paul said.
O’Malley admitted Conor McGregor has dealt with injuries but said he still has the powerful left hand that made him one of the biggest stars in UFC history. He also said he doesn’t believe UFC CEO Dana White would pressure the Irishman into fighting just for business reasons.
Instead, Sean O’Malley thinks McGregor personally wants one more fight before retiring.
