Rick Boogs Released By WWE

Rick Boogs is reportedly no longer with WWE.

Upon the news of ongoing WWE releases, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful is now reporting that former WWE 24/7 Champion Rick Boogs has been released from the company.

Boogs first joined WWE in 2017 — the same year had made his professional wrestling debut in the company’s developmental territory of NXT. After a stint in NXT, Boogs received his call up to WWE’s main roster in 2021, where he was assigned to the SmackDown brand. Upon his arrival to SmackDown, Boogs aligned himself with Shinsuke Nakamura. Boogs initially served as Nakamura’s entrance guitarist before he began to tag team with Nakamura in the ring as well.

After suffering a torn quad at WrestleMania 38, Boogs made his on-screen return in January 2023. Following his return, Boogs competed in various feuds against the likes of The Miz and LA Knight. Boogs’ WWE last match occurred at the 2023 SummerSlam pay-per-view as he participated in the Slim Jim Battle Royale.
