Will Ospreay: IMPACT Wrestling Is In The Running For My Next Home

Will Ospreay says IMPACT Wrestling is a contender as he looks ahead to his potential free agency.

IWGP United Kingdom Champion Will Ospreay is widely regarded as one of the best wrestlers in the world. His NJPW contract is set to expire in February 2024. If he hits the open market, he could become the most buzzworthy free agents available.

Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Will Ospreay offered an update on his contract negotiations with NJPW. He noted that he is looking to explore every option, including IMPACT Wrestling.

“The deal is up in February, and we’re still in negotiations,” Ospreay said. “I’m looking to explore every single option and every single avenue. Impact Wrestling is in the running for my next home. I’m willing to test the waters. So this match against Mike Bailey is a real treat for me, and I’m excited to do it, especially with what could happen next year.”

Later in the interview, Will Ospreay emphasized that he is focused on showing why he’s the best in the world.

“I am building a legacy,” Ospreay said. “I’m doing that through the company I’m contracted to, and every other match I’m in outside of it, too. I’m here to state my name and show why I’m the best in the world.”

At IMPACT Bound For Glory, Will Ospreay will face Mike Bailey. WrestleZone will have coverage of the show as it airs.
