Big E: Paul Wight Told Kofi Kingston He Was Wasting His Career With The New Day

According to Big E, Paul Wight once told Kofi Kingston he was wasting his career with The New Day, and he later apologized.

Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods formed The New Day in 2014. The group took some time to find its stride, but they eventually became one of the top stables in WWE history.

Speaking on the Undrafted Allstarz Sports Show, Big E discussed his bond with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. He then recalled how Paul Wight, then known as The Big Show, questioned Kingston on his involvement with The New Day. (H/t Corey Brennan of Fightful for the transcription).

“We had like Big Show was pulling Kofi aside, ‘What are you doing with those two? You’re wasting your career.’ He came back later and apologized,” Big E said. “Because sometimes people don’t see the vision. They don’t see what you see, they don’t understand that.”
