Jey Uso’s match on the December 4 episode of WWE RAW will be especially meaningful.
On Monday night, Uso is set to challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Ahead of the match, Jey took to Instagram to note that he was dedicating the match to Umaga, who passed away 14 years ago to the day. Uso wrote, “December 4th, this one is for you.”
Umaga (real name Edward Smith Fatu) was part of the Anoaʻi family, which included Roman Reigns and The Usos. Jey and Jimmy Uso, as well as Solo Sikoa, are Umaga’s nephews. The former WWE Intercontinental Champion passed away on December 4, 2009. It was later revealed that he passed away due to acute toxicity and liver failure and a fatal heart attack.
December 4 also marks The Usos’ 14-year anniversary with WWE.
