CM Punk Is Back At NXT Training With Talent (Updated)

CM Punk is reportedly at the WWE Performance Center again.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that CM Punk is at the WWE Performance Center, where he is “training and holding court” with NXT talent. Johnson notes that there was a lot of excitement when Punk made a surprise appearance at the Performance Center on December 11 and spent the day with talent.

Ibou of WrestlePurists previously responded to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful‘s report that Punk was backstage at NXT on Tuesday. Ibou wrote that Punk would be observing and seeing how things worked in terms of television production.

NXT star Lola Vice seemingly confirmed Punk’s presence by tweeting a picture of the two of them together on Tuesday night.

More Details On CM Punk Being At WWE Performance Center

In another report, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) provided more information about CM Punk’s trip to the WWE Performance Center. Punk was under no obligation to be there, and sources stated that he spent most of his day backstage and helping talent who asked for it.

Punk was also said to be watching matches with talent and giving them feedback. Fightful’s Corey Brennan reported that Punk was moving around and observing the television production. Sources noted that Punk did not take Shawn Michaels’ endorsement lightly when the Hall of Famer welcomed him back to the company.

CM Punk Reportedly Wants To Succeed Shawn Michaels At NXT

The report also cites Ibou of WrestlePurists, who notes that Punk’s long-term goal is to succeed Michaels in leading NXT. Per WWE officials, this outcome would be a long way off, and there are currently no plans for Michaels to leave NXT.

Sapp also writes that, per sources who have been there, Punk has been a pleasure to deal with during his time at the Performance Center.

Punk officially signed with WWE RAW on the December 11 episode. After a heated confrontation with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, he announced that he would be entering the Men’s Royal Rumble match.
