ROH World Tag Team Title Match Set For 12/27 AEW Dynamite

MJF and Samoa Joe are set to defend the gold on AEW Dynamite.

AEW World Champion MJF and Samoa Joe previously defended the ROH World Tag Team Championship against The Gunns at AEW Full Gear. Joe will challenge MJF for the world title at AEW Worlds End. In recent weeks, the road to the show has been a turbulent one. The Devil and his goons have the duo in their sights.

MJF and Joe were set to face some of The Devil’s masked men on the December 6 episode of AEW Dynamite. Before the match, the world champion was seemingly attacked backstage. With Roderick Strong accusing MJF of being The Devil himself, Joe called out MJF on the December 20 episode of Dynamite, MJF turned it around on Joe. He questioned whether he was The Devil. A group of masked men tried to attack them, but MJF and Joe fought them off.

The lights went out, and The Devil appeared on the screen. Through written words, he challenged MJF and Joe to defend the titles the following week on AEW Dynamite. Joe and MJF then accepted the challenge.

MJF is reportedly banged up, as he has said he is dealing with a torn labrum. However, he has made it clear he intends to compete at AEW Worlds End on December 30.

Adam Cole and MJF won the tag team titles at AEW All In, but Cole has been sidelined with an ankle injury since September.

WrestleZone will have coverage of AEW Dynamite as it airs on December 27.
