Deonna Purrazzo Comments On AEW Debut

Last night on the first episode of AEW Dynamite in 2024 fans saw another new signing for the Jacksonville-based promotion. It was none other than the former IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts World Champion Deonna Purrazzo.

Mariah May made her in-ring debut. After she won the match, May was interviewed by Renee Paquette. As May was dissing the New Jersey crowd, out came The Virtuosa. Deonna Purrazzo showed up and announced that she is now officially All Elite.

Following her promo segment, AEW CEO and President Tony Khan took to Twitter to officially welcome Purrazzo to the Jacksonville-based promotion.

“It’s official: @DeonnaPurrazzo is ALL ELITE! What a great moment for the hometown hero, The Virtuosa TONIGHT on @TBSNetwork on Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite!” Tony Khan tweeted.

The Virtuosa replied by saying that signing with All Elite Wrestling was a dream come true.

“A dream come true,” Deonna Purrazzo tweeted.

On Thursday morning, Purrazzo offered another statement, writing that she’s still on cloud 9:

Deonna Purrazzo would love to wrestle both Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY in the future

A few days ago, the former IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts World champion was interviewed on the Gabby AF podcast. During the episode, Purrazzo shared that she is looking forward to square up against Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY once again.

“Oo, that’s tough,” Purrazzo said. “I wish I could choose both of them. So I wrestled Rhea [Ripley] a ton of times on the NXT house show loops [in Florida]. We wrestled for the NXT UK Women’s Championship in the main event of an NXT UK where Rhea defeated me. So I feel like there’s that where we know each other very well, but there’s also IYO who I’ve wrestled in Japan a ton.

“We actually were in the same Performance Center class at the same time in July 2018. So we came in together, and I feel like that would be a really cool story to tell of, ‘Look what you’ve gone on to do while you stayed in WWE, and I had to leave and redeem myself a little bit, and now I’m coming back for your championship,’ I feel like is a really cool story. So my answer is IYO, I feel like it’s IYO.”
