LA Knight was almost the Brawny man.
WWE SmackDown star LA Knight has had an interesting history in Hollywood with a number of cameos and potential opportunities that didn’t quite come to fruition. During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet of Insight, Knight was asked to elaborate on what he’s auditioned for in Los Angeles, which led to the reveal that he almost became the face of Brawny paper towels.
“Everything, I was almost the Brawny man. I was this close to being the Brawny man,” Knight said. “I went and did fittings. It was me and one other guy. When I got there, the fitting was terrible. Yes, [the paper towel]. I don’t know if you noticed, but in the last — it was maybe about seven years ago or so — they changed the look of the guy on the actual packaging. You only see him from [the nose] down. But I know that damn chin because it was me and the other guy. I know his chin.
“So we got to the fitting, we were on the veil and stuff — these are all industry terms. I was right there and when I got to the fitting, none of the stuff fit. The pants were too small, the shirt was too small. They had a couple different options, none of them would fit right. The other dude was a decently-sized guy. He was a little skinnier. I don’t know, Brawny man? But he’s got this big ass chin, like that’s really what won him. I’ve got an okay chin and jaw, but this dude was like Jaws from 007. So, yeah, that was probably the closest one I got.”
Knight also mentioned his 2015 Brooklyn Nine-Nine appearance in which he was a named character, however it was a non-speaking role.
