WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles recently backed LA Knight for a World title run.
Since his breakout run around 2023, fans have rallied behind LA Knight. Over the last three years, Knight has only captured the United States Championship. He has received several opportunities to win a world title. However, every one of those chances ended in defeat.
Despite those setbacks, fan support has barely slowed down. Now, AJ Styles has joined those supporters publicly. The former WWE Champion believes Knight has earned his chance at the top.
AJ Styles explains why LA Knight deserves a WWE world title run
Speaking on The Phenomenally Retro Podcast, AJ Styles praised Knight. He said Knight deserves to become a world champion.
“I do hope he gets to be a world champion. I really think he has earned it. His mic work is pretty freaking awesome, so I’d like to see – He’s a guy that can hold a heavyweight championship, no problem. He’s got the mouth to back it up. I’d like to see it happen.”
“The reality is we’ve got a lot of guys who are getting to that point where time’s coming and it waits for no one. So if we’re going to do something, let’s do it. Let’s get it done. I’d like to see some heavyweight champions that we haven’t seen before.” [H/T: Fightful]
For now, his issues with The Bloodline continue. Some fans wonder where this storyline heads next. A future showdown with Roman Reigns seems possible. Whether that leads to a world title match remains unclear.
