Jey Uso Details The Championship Aspirations For His Singles Run In WWE

Jey Uso wants that singles gold.

After separating himself from The Bloodline, Jey Uso found himself a new home through a trade that saw him move to WWE RAW while Kevin Owens was relocated to SmackDown. Upon his return to RAW, Uso made it clear that he was looking to establish himself as a singles competitor.

During a recent interview with TNT Sports, Uso laid out some of the specific goals he hopes to fulfill in this solo run. While Uso is no stranger to tag team titles, he is eager to capture his first piece of singles gold.

“I feel like I got more to give. I feel like I want to definitely hold the big one, man. get my first singles championship,” Uso said. “The Intercontinental Championship is something real big that I would like to try to strive for. Gunther is holding that, and I feel like me and Gunther could really have a pay-per-view type quality match here that people would like to see, but just play my position. Everything that’s handed in front of me every single week, I just make sure I kill it. I make sure I give it everything I got every single week because it might be your last opportunity.”

Making The Most Out Of Opportunities

‘I tell the young homies that like even if it’s three minutes, five minutes, three seconds on TV, you go out there and you try your best to just shine and get over. This ain’t no sprint, this game right here is a marathon for real. You got to stay consistent to the game in order to hit that top-guy level. You’re not going to know until you get there. ‘Oh, this is what it feels like.’ Then once you get in that position, you don’t want to come down. You got to bring everybody up like I was brought up. I learn and I want to pass it down too to whoever is next. There’s so much talent down there in NXT. Our company, it’s in good hands for the next 50 more years.”

Since beginning his singles journey, Uso has challenged for two major championships, the World Heavyweight Championship and the Intercontinental Championship (albeit the latter of which was featured as a dark match).
