GoFundMe Set Up For NWA’s Silas Mason After House Fire

A GoFundMe has been set up to help NWA wrestler Silas Mason.

“The Thrillbilly” is the current NWA National Heavyweight Champion. Unfortunately, he has recently suffered a disaster at his home. His home was tragically affected by a fire, unfortunately destorying everything. Mason was left with “nothing but the clothes on his back and his car”.

The fundraiser was set up by Kerry Morton, who is the son of legendary tag team wrestler Ricky Morton. Morton wrestles with Mason in the NWA, and is a “dear friend” of the wrestler and part of the Southern Six. Former NWA star Kamille wrote about the GoFundMe on Twitter, promoting it to her 14,000 followers.

“Please go donate to help out a fellow worker and friend. His house burned down with everything in it,” Kamille wrote. “It’s an unimaginable tragedy to lose the roof over your head unexpectedly so every little bit helps!”

A number of wrestlers have contributed to this fund. Matt Cardona donated $500 dollars to the GoFundMe, while former TNA boss Scott D’Amore gave $1,500 to the cause.

They have raised over the $10,000 goal as of now, with donations still coming in as we speak.

Silas Mason Recently Appeared In “The Iron Claw” As Terry Gordy

While usually a wrestler, recently Mason tried his hand at acting.

The NWA wrestler was a part of A24’s “The Iron Claw”, which featured a number of wrestlers in it, including MJF.

WrestleZone spoke to Silas Mason about being cast to play Terry Gordy in the movie, who he calls his favorite wrestler of all time.

“I get to play — did play, we already wrapped filming — but I played my favorite wrestler. The best wrestler, in my opinion, is Terry Funk. There’s levels to this, and Funk is God, brother. But Terry Gordy is my personal favorite wrestler. He’s someone I’ve always modeled my stylings in the ring after. We have similar body types; big guys that can move and put a hurtin’ on people. So that’s who I was playing.

“Zac Efron called me personally and he said, ‘Thrill, we need you.’ I said, ‘Zac, let me check my schedule. Let me see what I’ve got going on.’ Turns out I had a few free weeks in November. We went down to Baton Rouge — that’s French for you — Louisiana and we filmed the whole movie.
