Xavier Woods wants WrestleMania 40 to be the New Day’s redemption after missing out on WrestleMania 39.
On the March 18 episode of WWE RAW, The New Day will compete in a qualifying match as they aim to earn a spot in the Six-Pack Ladder Match for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 40.
Speaking on WWE Die Woche, Xavier Woods was asked to describe what being a part of the title match at WrestleMania would mean to him.
“It would be amazing because in reality, of all the New Day members, only one of us, I believe, have a win at WrestleMania, and that’s when Kofi became champion,” Xavier Woods said. “I think as a team, we’re all 0-6 or 0-8 at Mania, so on one hand, it’ll be incredible to be able to be in that match if we get the chance, which we will because we’re gonna qualify. Then we’re going to WrestleMania, so it’ll be great to be in that match. It’ll be great to become tag team champions.”
Xavier Woods: We Need The WrestleMania Moment
Xavier Woods continued by emphasizing that it would be great to finally get a win as a team at WrestleMania 40. He stated that he wants to have a WrestleMania moment by winning the titles with Kofi Kingston.
“But even better, it’s gonna be great to put a win in that column for WrestleMania appearances. That’s what we really need. We need the WrestleMania moment. I want to be on top of the ladder, holding the titles, right next to Kofi, holding the titles, screaming, losing our minds, and that’ll be our moment for this year. It’ll make up for last year because we weren’t able to be on the show. Kofi was injured, and so we didn’t have a chance to jump in anything tag-wise, and this is gonna be the redemption year. “
