AEW Rampage Results (3/20/24): Tag Team Title Tournament Wild Card Match, More

All Elite Wrestling delivered an action-packed show with the March 20 episode of AEW Rampage.

Tonight, Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale will take on Skye Blue and Julia Hart. Under Street Fight rules, anything will be able to occur, so it promises to be a chaotic bout.

Statlander and Nightingale have taken part in a handful of Street Fighters, the latest of which being a match at AEW Collision: Winter is Coming 2023, when they beat Mercedes Martinez and Diamante in a match.

Elsewhere in the night, the Best Friends and The Don Callis Family will meet in a Wild Card Match in the ongoing AEW Tag Title Tournament.

The results are as follows:

Match 1: Best Friends defeat The Don Callis Family via pinfall

In an opening match that would decide who would move on in the AEW Tag Team Championship Tournament, it was Orange Cassidy and Trent Beretta who would do enough to win. Ealry on, both teams got into a chaotic brawl that ended with Hobbs hitting a big powerbomb on Beretta.

As the match went on, however, the Best Friends were able to get the momentum on their side. Things came to an end after Cassidy delivered a series of lazy kicks to Hobbs, followed by a big body slam to the crowd’s chagrin.

After that, Cassidy got out of a Tombstone Piledriver attempt and sent Fletcher into the corner, where Beretta hit a big DDT that led to an Orange Punch for the win.

Match 2: Katsuyori Shibata defeats Kevin Matthews via submission

Shibata made short work of Matthews, taking him down almost immediately with a big lariat before locking in a sleeper hold that knocked out Matthews.

Match 3: Konosuke Takeshita defeats Rocky Romero via pinfall

Takeshita controlled most of the match against Romero, but things slipped late as Romero was able to get in some big hits and then lock in an armbar. However, Don Callis was able to get interference in, bothering the referee enough to let Takeshita break away.

To end the match, Takeshita hit a big lariat on Romero and then connected on a big elbow, before hitting the Falcon Arrow for the pin and win.

Match 4: Julia Hart & Skye Blue defeats Kris Statlander & Willow Nightingale via submission

In an incredible Street Fight to close out the night, it was Hart and Blue who would come out with the win. Toward the end of the match, things got even more hectic, with the superstars trading finishers, including Skye Blue hitting a Code Blue on Willow onto a table that didn’t break.

At the end of the match, Skye dumped a bag of tacks onto the ring, with Statlander also dumping a bag. Blue followed this up with a massive powerbomb of Julia Hart onto the tacks. After a Death Valley Driver through tables outside of the ring, Hart was then put through a series of chairs. Statlander then whiffed on a 450 splash, allowing Hart to lock in a submission that caused Statlander to tap out.
