Big E Gives 2-Year Update On Neck Injury

Big E updated fans on the status of his neck injury following his second year of scans to his neck, and revealed that he has yet to be medically cleared.

Taking to Twitter, Big E revealed that his second year of neck scans were done, and he remains not medically cleared to compete. According to the superstar, Big E’s C1 vertebrae has healed fibrously, but hasn’t formed new bone, meaning it’s not safe for him to be in the ring. Despite the news, Big E remains glad he’s pain free from his injury.

“Two year neck scans are in. Things are unchanged,” said Big E. “My C1 has healed fibrously but has not formed new bone. I’m not medically cleared and truthfully, I may never be cleared. But I am blessed to be free of pain, immensely happy and otherwise healthy. Life is good.”

Big E has not wrestled since March 2022, as he suffered a neck injury during a tag team match against Ridge Holland and Sheamus. He landed on his head during a suplex by Holland, and he was stretchered away. Big E subsequently revealed that he fractured his C1 and C6 vertebrae. In August 2023, he stated that doctors had advised him not to wrestle again. He also expressed that he wanted to be smart about his future.
