AEW Dynamite Viewership Decreases On 4/17, Demo Also Drops

AEW Dynamite saw a decrease in viewership on April 17.

According to Wrestlenomics, 762,000 viewers watched the show on Wednesday night, drawing a 0.26 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The viewership is down from last week’s episode, when 819,000 viewers tuned in. The demo also dropped from last week‘s episode, which drew a 0.30 rating in the same demographic.

Dynamite faced stiff competition last night as the show went head-to-head with two NBA Play-In Games on ESPN.

What happened on AEW Dynamite this week?

This week’s show kicked off with Jon Moxley returning as IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. Moxley challenged Powerhouse Hobbs to a match next week on Dynamite.

Elsewhere on the show, The Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada defeated PAC, Penta El Zero Miedo, and Daniel Garcia in a trios match.

In women’s action, Deonna Purrazzo defeated Mariah May. Thunder Rosa attacked Toni Storm after the match was over.

In the main event of the show, Will Ospreay defeated Claudio Castagnoli. The close of the show witnessed a confrontation between Swerve Strickland and Samoa Joe, which left Joe standing tall to close the show.
