Eddie Kingston Advised To Wait For Surgery On Torn ACL And Meniscus, To Be Out Longer Than Expected

Eddie Kingston will be sidelined for the foreseeable future.

AEW star Eddie Kingston suffered a broken leg at NJPW Resurgence on May 11, where he faced Gabe Kidd in a No Ropes Last Man Standing match. It was then revealed that he had suffered a torn ACL and meniscus as well, so he would require surgery.

In an update, Mike Johnson of PWInsider writes that Eddie Kingston relayed that he met with surgeons, and he was advised that he would have to wait for surgery so that the tibular fracture could heal. Johnson states that Kingston would likely not be able to have surgery until July at the earliest.

Per Johnson, Kingston said that he has been advised that it would probably be ten months before he can return to the ring after he gets the surgery. This would mean that he would not be able to come back until May 2025.

Johnson wrote that Kingston said, “Not mad.  I don’t give a f***.  it’s what happens when you wrestle. Just gotta get f**king better.”

Kingston is a former ROH World Champion and AEW Continental Champion, among other accolades.

WrestleZone wishes Eddie Kingston well in his recovery, and we will provide more information as it becomes available.
