AEW Collision Results

This week’s episode of Collision kicks off with Jon Moxley saying nobody owns the AEW World Championship. Moxley says it’s supposed to mean something, but it’s a symbol of everything he hates and he’s been fighting against.

Jon Moxley says they are giving Top Flight a gift tonight with a title shot. Mox says tonight is a public execution of Top Flight.

Ricochet vs. AR Fox

  • The closing moments of the match saw Ricochet hit AR Fox with Vertigo to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Ricochet

Following the match, Ricochet says he came to AEW because it’s where the best wrestle. Ricochet makes it clear that he hasn’t been pinned in AEW. Ricochet makes it clear that he wants a shot at Konosuke Takeshita and the AEW International Championship.

Grade: A

Well, that was a great way to start the show. I can only imagine it’s all downhill from here because I don’t think a single match on this show is going to top what they just put on. Ricochet and AR Fox crushed it!

Daniel Garcia and Private Party are standing up for AEW

Private Party and Daniel Garcia talk about the Young Bucks being complacent cowards and that they are going to make an example out of them by winning the AEW World Tag Team Titles.

Kris Statlander vs. Harley Cameron

  • The closing moments of the match saw Kris Statlander hit Staturday Night Fever on Harley Cameron to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Kris Statlander

After the match, Kris Statlander calls out Kamille and promises that Mercedes will have a front-row seat to their upcoming match.

Grade: C+

This was a glorified squash match. Cameron got a little bit of offense in, but this was basically a showcase for Statlander. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but it was just your typical AEW squash match that they typically would have aired on Dark or Elevation.

Daniel Garcia and Private Party vs. Premier Athletes (w/ Smart Mark Sterling)

  • The closing moments of the match saw Private Party hit Gin and Juice on Josh Woods. Marq Quen scores the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: Daniel Garcia and Private Party

Grade: B

This was much more of a back-and-forth match than I was expecting. They gave the Premier Athletes a lot here, but it was also a nice showcase for the resiliency of Garcia and Private Party. Hopefully, these three men will all be holding AEW gold by the end of 2024.

Orange Cassidy vs. Bronson (w/ Boulder and Jacked Jameson)

  • The closing moments of the match saw Orange Cassidy hit the Orange Punch and Beach Break to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Orange Cassidy

Grade: N/A

This match was so short it’s impossible to grade. I guess I’m happy that it was over quickly because I can’t stand Iron Savages. Moving on!

Jamie Hayter vs. Brooke Havoc

  • The closing moments saw Jamie Hayter hit Brooke Havoc with Hayterade to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Jamie Hayter

Penelope Ford comes on the Tron and says Jamie Hayter was her tag team partner in the last match she had. Ford says she was out of action for two years and Hayter never checked on her. Ford says she’s back and she’s gonna make Hayter know what two years of pain and anger really looks like. Penelope says she’s going to take away everything Hayter cares about.

Grade: B-

This was very similar to the Kris Statlander match earlier. A total showcase for Jamie Hayter. The aftermath of the match with Penelope Ford promo gives the overall match a higher grade.

Daniel Garcia and Private Party speak to Orange Cassidy

Backstage Daniel Garcia and Private Party speak to Orange Cassidy trying to get him to step up against Blackpool Combat Club. Orange Cassidy says every time he steps in the ring with one of those men, it changes him. Cassidy says he’s not a leader and walks away.

Atlantis Jr. vs. Kyle Fletcher (w/ Don Callis)

  • The closing moments of the match saw Kyle Fletcher hit Atlantis Jr. with a top rope brainbuster to score the pinfall victory.

After the match, Don Callis says Kyle Fletcher has something to say. Fletcher says he’s ready to talk. Fletcher says he wouldn’t waste his breath on these fans anyway. Kyle says he’ll talk this Wednesday and everyone will listen, especially Will Ospreay.

Winner: Kyle Fletcher

Grade: B+

A really nice back-and-forth match. Fletcher and Atlantis Jr. work very well together. Fletcher getting his win back after dropping the Ring of Honor Television Title to him months ago makes a ton of sense.

House of Black vs. Alpha Zo, Chris Nastyy, and Olumide

  • The closing moments of the match saw a triple team move in the corner on Alpha Zo. Buddy Matthews scores the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: House of Black

Grade: B

This is everything a squash match should be. House of Black dominated and the opponents feared them the entire time. A match like this establishes the team as a threat. These guys should be the ones to step up against Blackpool Combat Club.

Thunder Rosa returns to Collision

Thunder Rosa is backstage and announces she’s been medically cleared of her concussion. Rosa is interrupted by Harley Cameron who says tonight was an injustice. Rosa decks Cameron and leaves her lying. From the ground, Cameron says Rosa will be the next to feel the wrath of Harley Cameron.

The Outrunners vs. RUSH and The Beast Mortos (w/ Dralistico)

  • The closing moments of the match saw Dralistico get involved to turn the tide for LFI. RUSH lands on Turbo Floyd after a suplex and Dralistico holds Floyd’s leg down to get the pinfall victory.

Winners: RUSH and The Beast Mortos

After the match, LFI continues to attack The Outrunners until FTR makes the save.

Grade: B

A fun tag team match. A much-needed win for LFI as the relationship between The Outrunners and FTR continues to blossom. While they seem united now, I feel like it’s only a matter of time before one of the teams turns on each other.

Sammy Guevara returns to action on AEW Dynamite

A vignette airs for Sammy Guevara who says he personally asked Tony Khan for a match against Shelton Benjamin. This match will take place on this Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite. This is Guevara’s first match since suffering a concussion back on October 2.

AEW Trios Titles: Blackpool Combat Club (c) vs. Top Flight and Action Andretti

  • The closing moments of the match saw PAC hit a tombstone piledriver on Action Andretti to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: Blackpool Combat Club retain their titles

Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir hit the ring as they continued to beat down Top Flight and Action Andretti. Lio Rush and Leila Grey hit the ring to try and assist but are quickly dealt with as AEW Collision goes off the air.

AEW Collision Review

Tonight was a solid episode of Collision. The Moxley stuff not overwhelming the show like it did on Dynamite this week helped the show flow a lot better overall. There were a lot of matches tonight but quite a few of them were a lot of fun. Hopefully, Dynamite can return to form this Wednesday night.

Grade: B-
