TNA Retires The Digital Media Title, Will Crown An International Champion At Unbreakable

TNA Wrestling has announced a brand new championship, the TNA International Championship. A new champion will be crowned at the upcoming Unbreakable pay-per-view.

Last night during the episode of iMPACT, the Director of Authority, Santino Marella stripped Steph De Lander of the Digital Media Championship. He also announced that the championship will be retired.

Following the retirement of the Digital Media title, Marella also announced that a brand new championship will be introduced at the upcoming TNA Unbreakable pay-per-view. It is the International Championship. A tournament will be taking place to crown the first-ever International Champion of the Nashville-based promotion.

“WHAT?! @milanmiracle is taking back the Digital Media Championship and just announced a tournament to crown the FIRST EVER TNA International Champion at #TNAUnbreakable! @TheSamiCallihan celebrated the news the only way he knows how! Beating the hell out of @ManceWarner with a baseball bat!” TNA Wrestling tweeted.

How will TNA crown a new champion?

Each match of the tournament will be a Three-Way Match. The contestants and the matches for the tournament have also been announced.

The first match of the tournament will be between Ace Austin, Steve Maclin, and Eddie Edwards. The second match of the tournament will be between JDC, Sami Callihan, and Eric Young. The third match will be between Mance Warner, AJ Francis, and Zachary Wentz.

Or that was what it was supposed to be. But a last-minute change had been made with Zachary Wents and Sami Callihan switching places in their respective three-way matches.

The Unbreakable pay-per-view will be taking place on April 17th.

Who do you think will be crowned the first-ever TNA International Champion?
