Did Jordynne Grace really take a pay cut to jump from TNA Wrestling to WWE?
Recently, there had been rumblings that Jordynne Grace took a pay cut to make the jump to WWE and bet on herself. The source of this appears to have come from Scott D’Amore’s new periodic column on Yahoo Sports’ Uncrowned. D’Amore touted Grace as a future WrestleMania main eventer. He also knew Grace turned down “more lucrative offers” elsewhere to bet on herself in WWE. D’Amore’s full statement on Grace is below:
“Speaking of WrestleMania headliners, I know for a fact that NXT newcomer Jordynne Grace turned down more lucrative offers elsewhere because she wanted to bet on herself. Grace believes she can become a massive star in NXT, a bigger superstar in WWE and go on to headline WrestleMania. I, for one, have learned to never doubt “The Juggernaut.”
“Jordynne made me a believer during our time together in TNA from 2018-24. I knew Jordynne was a generational talent from the moment I saw her, and after bringing her to TNA, she continued to level up over and over again. Mark my words: Jordynne Grace will headline WrestleMania in the next few years.”
F4WOnline.com’s Dave Meltzer later covered D’Amore’s comments. However, Meltzer’s recap came without a citation for the Uncrowned column in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter. “Scott D’Amore, who would know such things, said that Jordynne Grace took a deal for a lot less money than she was making to come to WWE and bet on herself,” Meltzer wrote.
This somehow led to speculation that TNA was paying her more money than WWE is now. A new report confirms this isn’t accurate. According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), despite being in NXT, Grace signed a WWE main roster contract. She is making more money with WWE than she was with TNA.
The factor of taking a pay cut comes from outside ventures and brand deals no longer being in play as a member of the WWE roster. Grace had a very popular OnlyFans account, which she shut down prior to signing with the company. It was noted that because of her various outside ventures, Grace was a millionaire before she got to WWE.
Grace will challenge for the NXT Women’s Championship in a fatal four-way match at WWE NXT Stand & Deliver.
